About this deal

Chances are you probably know all there is to know about Superdrug, but if you don’t then here’s a little more detail about them. Scholl isn’t the easiest product to apply to your fungal nails, though it also isn’t the most complicated way to treat the problem. First, you’ll need to file the nails and remove the top layer completely. Then, it’s time to use the brush to apply the clear nail liquid. This process is fairly standard for treatment, with the filing step helping to access deeper and more embedded fungus. We like the no-nonsense, easy-to-understand process – just apply to the nail and let it do its job. However, we do think it is important to point out (and Curanail does not mention this) that when you file down an infected nail, you should not use the same file again, as it can spread the fungus to other nails or redistribute the fungi later on the same nail. We recommend getting some cheap, single-use nail files to help avoid spreading the infection further along your foot. Ingredients Q. I’ve seen a picture of a fungal nail infection but I’m still not sure if that is what I’m suffering from. Any tips?

Treatment should be continued without interruption until the nail is regenerated and the affected areas are finally cured. Non-compliance with frequency of administration and recommended treatment duration might result in treatment failure, and development of resistance. The required frequency and duration of treatment depends essentially on intensity and localisation of the infection. In general, it is six months (finger nails) and nine to twelve months (toe nails). A review of the treatment is recommended at intervals of approximately three months. If the infection has not cleared after six months (finger nails) and twelve months (toe nails) medical advice should be sought. No, as it can only be used on a maximum of 2 nails in total (not per foot). Treatment is still available but you need to go to the doctor for that. A systemic or local allergic reaction could possibly occur after use of this product. If this happens, the product should be stopped immediately and medical advice should be sought. Remove the product carefully by using a nail remover solution. The product should not be reapplied. If you have years to wait, using Nailner daily will eventually bring permanent results. If you continue to restrict the fungus then it will, eventually, give up. For this to happen, you need to be faithfully using the product for at least 12 months.

It’s recommended that you use Nailner every day for the first four weeks. After four weeks, you can use the product just one a day instead of twice. Effectiveness Treatment usually takes about 6 months for finger nails and 9 to 12 months for toe nails. If the nail is still infected after this time talk to your pharmacist or doctor. I'll suggest some of these to DH! He's had a fungal nail for about 3 years and, when he went to the doctor he was told to file the top of the nail and apply some sort of liquid. It didn't make any difference and he couldn't have the oral medication at the time as he was on warfarin. He's off that now but doesn't want the oral stuff due to the potential side effects.

Q. I regularly use my local gym and have started to wear flip flops in the communal changing rooms to stop me getting athlete’s foot and verrucas. Will that stop me from getting fungal nail infections too? For the low price, Nailner’s probably worth a bit of a gamble. The costs of this treatment aren’t too prohibitive, so why not see if it works for you? 3 – Scholl Scholl Fungal Nail Complete Treatment Kit Experience with amorolfine use during pregnancy and/or lactation is limited. Only a few cases of exposure to topical amorolfine use in pregnant women have been reported in the post-authorisation setting, therefore the potential risk is unknown. Q. I’m using Curanail at the moment but have been told I’ll need to use it once a week for at least the next 6 months. Any tips on keeping up with the treatment? I can see myself forgetting to use it. Patients with nail dystrophy, destroyed nail plate, nail pain or inflammation should be referred to their doctor.

Curanail 5% nail lacquer contains 5% w/v amorolfine in the form of hydrochloride. Amorolfine is chemically described as cis-4-[(RS)-3[4-(1,1-Dimethylpropyl)phenyl]-2-methylpropyl]-2,6-dimethylmorpholine. Curanail is a nail lacquer, which means it functions essentially the same as a nail polish that you might put on your toes to look cute for your well-deserved vacation to Zanzibar later this year (wishful thinking, but still). It is a clear liquid solution that comes in a little pot with a brush.

Q. I read somewhere that if you’ve got athlete’s foot then you are more susceptible to developing a fungal nail infection. Is there any truth in this? Canespro nail fungus treatment is a widely available product. It says that it can treat nail fungus in just 2-3 weeks. We’ve done the research, to find out more about how well Canespro works. Is it really as fast and effective as it says? Let’s take a look beyond the box: Availability Hot and humid communal areas are a breeding ground for infections of the feet and nails. Wearing flip flops will certainly reduce the chances of catching and spreading these infections, including fungal nail infections.Q. I’m diabetic and generally have to keep an eye on my feet as diabetes makes me prone to infections. I’ve noticed recently though that the nail on my big toe has got slightly discoloured. Can I treat it with Curanail?

Wow thanks for all this, I've got fungal toenails and can't do much about them because I'm pregnant, but they are causing the nails to deform in ways which I can see are going to cause pain eventually.Cosmetic nail lacquer may be applied at least 10 min after amorolfine 5% nail lacquer application. Before repeat application of Curanail 5% nail lacquer, any remaining nail lacquer, and cosmetic nail lacquer if any, should be removed carefully, then the affected nails should be filed down again as required, and at any rate be cleansed with an alcohol soaked swab to remove any remaining lacquer. Other fungal nail treatments involve a lot of soaking, scraping and complicated application rules. It’s nice that Nailner’s so easy to use, though you must remember to apply the product twice a day if you want the best results. Excilor’s incredibly easy to use, with no need to sit and file your nails. Just apply the liquid treatment, twice a day, with the brush. Curanail has the regular list of ‘difficult-to-pronounce-yet-important ingredients’ that you’ll find in any kind of medicated topical solution: ammonio methacrylate copolymer A, triacetin, butyl acetate, ethyl acetate, and ethanol. Importantly, however, Curanail contains 50 mg/ml of amorolfine. Curanail 5% nail lacquer is a topical antimycotic. Amorolfine belongs to a new chemical class, and its fungicidal action is based on an alteration of the fungal cell membrane targeted primarily on sterol biosynthesis. The ergosterol content is reduced, and at the same time unusual sterically nonplanar sterols accumulate.
